The Assessment Service shall be under the authority of the Chief of Assessment with the rank of a service head. His/Her main function is to ensure the mastery of local taxation and strengthen the financial capacity of the City Council. In this regard, he/she shall be in charge of:

• Preparing the files of tax payers with the organs and services concerned.
• Assessing City Council revenue
• Exploiting and or supervising all income generating activities for the City Council in collaboration with the services concerned.
• Licensing contracts or lease of any nature, occupation of public utility, renting, etc.
• Issuing of revenue orders.
• Controlling the collection of taxes and local revenues in collaboration with the Divisional Centre of Taxes, Specialised Tax Centre and Municipal Treasury.
• Studies for the increase of financial resources of the City Council.
• Tax information relating to tax payers.

It shall comprise:

1. An assistant service in charge of markets and 7 bureaus.
2. The new market, the old market.
3. The mile 4 market.
4. Beaches.
5. Parks.
6. Recovery.
7. Sub cashier.
