Mme Diboma Rose Service Head in charge of Hygiene and Sanitation

• Ensuring the implementation of legislative and statutory measures for a healthy and sustainable environment.
• Controlling the implementation of standards for improving sanitation within the municipality.
• Applying the rules of hygiene and sanitation in an urban environment.
• Ensuring the collection and treatment of garbage including other urban wastes in collaboration with the services concerned.
• Managing municipal dumpsites.
• Carrying out sensitisation activities for the population, in order to create a healthy urban environment.
• The healthiness of backwater and the cleaning of swampy areas.
• Ensuring, in collaboration with services concerned, that foodstuff, meat and oil supplied are fit for public consumption.
• Hygiene in bars.
• The eradication of stray animals.
• Managing the impoundment of animals.
• Managing municipal cemetery and burial of abandoned corpses.
• Controlling inhumation, exhumation and transportation of corpses.

The Hygiene and Sanitation service shall comprise 3 bureaus:

1. The general labour pool.
2. Sanitary agents and
3. The slaughter and meat slabs
