The market is placed under the authority of a service head in charge of the New Town (Main) Market, assisted by two assistant service heads in charge of the Food(Church Street) and Mile 4 markets.
The official market days are Tuesdays and Fridays, though the market is open through out the week to sell all food items.

• Protect Limbe City Council structures found within the market premises
• Maintain peace and order within the market vicinity
• Manage the markets and their structures
• Sell tickets on a daily basis especially on market days;
• Submit weekly reports on the smooth running of the markets;
• Render accounts on a daily basis of revenue collected to the Municipal Treasurer.
