BIOGRAPHY OF THE PIONEER GOVERNMENT DELEGATE OF THE LIMBE CITY COUNCIL

Mr Motanga Andrew Monjimba, pioneer Government Delegate of the Limbe City Council, was born on 15th of August 1959 in Mokundange, Limbe. After his primary education in his village, Mokundange, he enrolled into the National Comprehensive College, Limbe. He later moved to PCC Bamenda where he earned his GCE Ordinary Levels.
Mr Motanga started his working career in 1977 in Bafoussam but his quest for further studies made him sit for the Advance Level which he obtained in 1981 and moved to the then Yaounde University. He left the University and wrote the professional entrance examination into the Government Training Centre, ETAF, where he graduated as an Administrative Secretary.
He is also a staunch member of the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement, CPDM. In 2002, he was elected CPDM Fako I Section President, a position he still holds. That same year, he was also elected Chairman of the Council, a position he held until 2007 when the three new councils in Limbe were created.
Prior to his appointment by presidential decree no.2009/058 of February 6, 2009, the dynamic Government Delegate served the nation in several capacities. He has headed many Bureaus in the Divisional office in Bafoussam, Divisional Delegate of Transport, Fako, Regional Chief of Transport, SW and the Mayor of the Limbe II Council before his appointment as pioneer Government Delegate of the Limbe City Council
Shortly after his appointment, Mr. Motanga told The Post that he intends to make Limbe to reflect the true image of a petroleum town of his dream. He also said one of his priorities would be the provision of potable water to those who are still in need.
"Our priority area will be certainly to give potable water to those who don't have. I think it is like a sacrilege today to think that there are still some people leaving without potable water," he said.
