Ete Ekole / Service Head, Social and Cultural Service
The Social and Cultural Service is placed under the authority of a service head, appointed by the Government Delegate.
The service head of this section shall be in charge of:
Drawing up, implementing and following up of the social development policy of the City Council particularly in the interest of socio-vulnerable groups (youths, women, handicapped persons) and different solidarity activities
Relations with cultural and sporting associations, grassroots committees and school establishments, Non Governmental organisations (NGO) groupings, neighbourhood associations, sub divisional councils as well as competent services.
Orgarnising professional training courses for youths and children.
Managing aids for the creation of economic micro projects in collaboration with the organs and services concerned.
Promoting and managing social and sporting activities for City Council staff.
Managing accommodation for City Council staff.
Providing the necessary means and logistics for the organisation of ceremonies, gatherings and feasts in collaboration with the services concerned.
Following up of transit and clearing formalities relating to the importation of equipments ordered by the City Council.
Orgarnising cultural events.
Relations with traditional authorities in collaboration with the cabinet.
It shall comprise 3 bureaus:
- Civil status.
- Library.
- Social and cultural welfare.
