The Town Planning Service
Miss Bridget Tinge Service Head of Town Planning
The Town Planning Service is placed under the authority of the Town Planning Officer with the rank of a service head, appointed by the Government Delegate. He/she shall be assisted by an assistant service head in charge of controlling drafts and plans. He/she shall be in charge of:
- Receiving, verifying and instructing on all files relating to the implementation of the land law.
- Preliminary control to check conformity before the issuing of establishment certificates.
- Providing detailed information on files relating to the parceling out of land.
- Controlling building permits and the occupation of land in general as well as the housing policy covering the jurisdiction of the City Council.
- Preventing works from continuing on construction sites or the demolition of dilapidated buildings or buildings and structures in violation of the laws in force after compilation of documents followed by approval of the Government Delegate.
- Maintenance works on property built and houses on rent belonging to the City Council.
- Drawing up and implementing the land development policy of the city.
- Following up the development of zones reserved for particular activities on settlements.
- Implementing the approved plans of streets or quarters in collaboration with the services concerned.
- Preparing the necessary graphic documents for urban management.
- The acquisition of real estate in collaboration with the services concerned.
- Coordinating cadastral and topographical works done by private consultants for the City Council.
- Drawing up and implementing the main urban infrastructure plan.
- Conceiving, implementing and following up the execution of the circulation and urban displacement plan in collaboration with the organs and services concerned.
The service head shall be aided by
an assistant service head in charge of controlling plans and drafts and 4 bureaus in charge of Town planning for the 4 zones of Limbe.
